Cleaning teak
Left untreated, exposed to weather hazards, teak will, in time, develop a patina and take on a silvery gray color. How long this process takes depends on the weather conditions.
Once teak shows a patina, it is possible to revitalize its color by scrubbing it every Springtime with soapy water to eliminate all the grime accumulated during the year. A pressurized hose with flat nozzle or multiple-use tip can also be used. When the water flow can be regulated with a manometer, the pressure should be set at 60 to 80 bars. The nozzle of the hose should be kept at a distance of 15 to 20 cm from the surface being cleaned. The water stream should not be directed at the joints. Your furniture can be damaged if these instructions are not followed correctly. |
